  • We have added Maple Syrup, Honey, Sunflower Seeds and Barley to our division.  Please see the Class List below for additional details.
  • We have some incredible sponsors and prize lists prepared for the winners in the divisions for 2024! Winners will be placed from 1st, 2nd and 3rd along with rosettes and prize money.
  • Come camera ready with your best smile! You will receive your winning awards at the Navan Fair Award Ceremony (Education Building) on Sunday August 11th at 11:00am.
  • We are grateful to announce that our entire Corn Division is being sponsored by the Coop Embrun (https://coopembrun.com/en/). First place for the Grain Corn Class will receive a bag of Corn Seed from Coop Embrun!

Rules and Regulations:

  1. Exhibitor should be a member of the Cumberland Township Agricultural Society (your exhibitor number must be given when entering). If not, a $10 flat fee will be required for entries under the Commercial Crops Division. 
  2. Entries must emailed to: navanfaircropentries@gmail.com or phoned into Shannon McInnis at: 613-835-2766 (Navan Fair Office) or by Friday July 26, 2024.
  3. Entry fee $2.00 per entry.
  4. Hay fields will not be judged
  5. Entry drop off in the Blue Exhibit Building is Wednesday, August 7 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
  6. Judging will begin at 9:00 am Thursday, August 8, 2024.

HONEY CLASSES:

1. ALL exhibits must arrive at the Navan Fair by the entry delivery date listed above.

2. Exhibitors of honey products must be bona fide beekeepers and the exhibits shown by them must be pure honey from floral sources in their apiaries.

3. Not more than one entry per class will be accepted from an exhibitor.

4. Honey products will be judged in accordance with the scale of points indicated in each section. The decision of the judges shall be final.

5. In classes for liquid and granulated honey, an exhibit shall consist of two (2) 500 gram (375 ml) jars. Any such exhibits delivered in containers that do not conform to these specifications will be declared ineligible for showing.

6. Please ensure that there are no labels or identifying markings on the entries.  You may have one identifying marking on the bottom of the jars.

7. All classes of comb honey (including round) must be packaged either in individual clear plastic wrappings or in individual cardboard cartons with cellophane windows. Comb honey must be produced in the hive and must contain pure honey. Cut comb honey should be well drained and must be packed in individual plastic or aluminum containers, or window front cardboard.

MAPLE SYRUP CLASSES:

The Navan Fair and the  Ontario Maple Syrup Producers Association (OMSPA) – Eastern Division have partnered up for the Maple Competition at the Navan Fair! If you are not a member of the Cumberland Township Agricultural Society (CTAS), the OMSPA will cover your flat fee ($10) for entry! 

  1. Entries must emailed to: navanfaircropentries@gmail.com or phoned into Shannon McInnis at: 613-835-2766 (Navan Fair Office) or by Friday July 26, 2024.

2. Exhibitors of maple products must be bona fide producers and the exhibits shown by them must be the product of their operation from the past 2024 Maple Syrup season.

3. Not more than one entry per class will be accepted from an exhibitor.

4. Maple syrup exhibits shall consist of one (1) Curved Kent Type glass bottles of maple syrup, each having a capacity of 250 mL (U.S. 8.5 oz).

5. Please ensure that there are no labels or identifying markings on the entries.  You may have one identifying marking on the bottom of the jars.

6. Any maple syrup entry containing any form of foreign material will be disqualified from the competition. Please check your syrup for clarity before submitting your entries.
